Awards

FIRST Robotics Competition celebrates the excitement of competition both on and off the field. Through the following awards, we celebrate the FIRST Core Values which makes us so much #morethanrobots.

To be eligible for any award, teams will be required to follow FIRST Core Values, demonstrate Gracious Professionalism®, and implement and follow appropriate safety practices. Teams can earn awards in any of four categories:

Machine, Creativity & Innovation Team Attributes Robot Performance Impact Award
EXCELLENCE IN ENGINEERING: Celebrates the team that demonstrates a professional approach to the design process. 2017, 2019 2024.
TEAM SUSTAINABILITY:  Celebrates and recognizes a team which has developed a sustainable program in order to define, manage, and achieve the team’s ongoing objectives. 2012, 2015, 2020, 2022 (2x)
FINALIST:  Celebrates the Alliance that makes it to the final match of the competition.
FIRST IMPACT (formerly Chairman's): is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. 2024
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN:  Celebrates the team that demonstrates industrial design principles, striking a balance between form, function, and aesthetics. 2010, 2017, 2018, 2020.
TEAM SPIRIT: Celebrates extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit through exceptional partnership and teamwork furthering the objectives of FIRST. 2013, 2014, 2017, 2024
WINNER: Celebrates the Alliance that wins the competition. 2014, 2016, 2018 (2x), 2024
INNOVATION IN CONTROLS: Celebrates an innovative control system or application of control components – electrical, mechanical or software – to provide unique machine functions. 2018, 2022
GRACIOUS PROFESSIONALISM: Celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism and working together both on and off the playing field. 2018
QUALITY: Celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication.  2014, 2016, 2018, 2022, 2023 (2x)
SAFETY: Celebrates the team that progresses beyond safety fundamentals by using innovative ways to eliminate or protect against hazards for themselves and others. 2017, 2018, 2020 (discontinued).
