Yakima 2019

Our Yakima journey started in Qualification Match 5. Our alliance scored nearly twice as much as any of the other opposing alliances and it showed that Yakima was going to be great. In our next match however, our alliance member accidentally knocked our robot off the pedestal as it was climbing, which caused some minor structural damage, but was enough to hinder us for the rest of Day 1 of the event. We still kept scoring well, but our robot was damaged, and wasn’t working properly. If it wasn’t for this, we would have undoubtedly scored higher than our actual ranking of 12th. However, we still made it into the quarter finals in the seventh alliance. They were two close matches (Quarter 3 Match 1 we lost 61-52; Quarter 3 Match 2 we lost 62-53), but we were out. This ended our Yakima journey in a sad way, seeing as now our only chance of making it to Districts in Tacoma is by winning the Chairman’s Award at Lake Oswego. Yakima, as most of our teammates say, really showed what our robot could do. There were obviously some hiccups, seeing as we didn’t win, but at times, we were easily the most dominant team on the field. As of now our team is hard at work preparing for Lake Oswego, where we are exited to try out our modifications.
